Morgan Motor company is well known for building classic hand assembled automobiles. The company was started in 1910 in Worcestershire United Kingdom by H F S Morgan and states they build about 850 cars per year.
Morgan has produced 3 Wheel cars for many years starting as far back as 1911 but had stopped producing them. In 2011 they reintroduced the 3 Wheeler at the Geneva Auto Show and went into production in 2012. The new vehicle is powered by a S&S 1998cc v twin engine.

In 2016 Morgan announced that they were building an electric version of their 3 Wheeler named the EV3. This vehicle would be built with a 21 KWH lithium ion battery good for 47HP and an expected driving range of up to 120 miles. This is the first project Morgan has worked on that is electric powered. A prototype of the cars was introduced at the Geneva Auto Show in 2018.
In March 2020 Morgan announced that they were ending the development of the EV3. The reason for the change of heart was a problem with the battery supplier. Morgan has commented that they have learned a lot from the program and would continue to look at electric power for their vehicles.
Although the 3 Wheeler is no longer being developed we can only wonder if this project has not ended but just put on the back burner. The real question is when can we expect to see Morgan produce an electric 3 Wheeler.
