One of the most successful car models has been the BMW 3 Series. First introduced in 1975 it has gone through 7 generations and shows no sign of slowing down. The BMW 3 Series accounts for 30% of BMW’s total sales and is easily found in almost an country around the world.

BMW 3 Series

The original BMW 3 Series was only available in a 2 door configuration but as the years went on more models were added. Four Doors, Wagons and Convertibles soon filled out the model line. As the Series progressed the main styling had a few changes but it has always stayed true to its original roots. No matter what year of BWM 3 Series you come across it is always recognizable. Highest sales numbers for the US market were in 2007 & 2014 when over 140,000 vehicles were sold and for Europe 2007 with over 295,000 sold.

BMW 3 Series adds an M model

In 1986 BMW introduced the M model to the BWM 3 Series product line. BMW M is BMW’s in-house motorsport division. This model was equipped with more horsepower, improved handling and lighter components.

BMW 3 Series Racer

The BMW 3 Series is also a favorite vehicle to run at the race track. There are many classes the 3 Series can be configured for and you can see them running at the track on any given weekend in North America and Europe.

There is no question about the popularity of the BMW 3 Series world wide. There have already been 7 versions of the model and we can expect may more in the future.
